I have recently read The Four Agreements, a companion book by Don Miguel Ruiz and it was recommended by a very dear friend. One of the books I would commend as it is really worth reading.
So what are the Four Agreements? To sum up they are;
1. Be impeccable with your word – whatever you say create magic to anyone, if it’s true it would create pure magic and if it’s not it would be black magic. So think hard before you open your mouth, if it would create black magic – just keep them closed.
2. Don’t take anything personally – people may say something on any given circumstances about you and you should not take them personally. Whatever they say is based on their current state of mind; when they tell you, ‘you’re ugly! you’re not any good!” – don’t take it personally, they have issues lying within themselves and they are letting it all out on you. You should know your real worth. If they tell you, “you’re heaven sent, you’re so pretty!” – don’t take it personally, they are in their happiest state of mind. You already know you’re beautiful inside out! wink
3. Don’t make assumptions – this is where the drama and misunderstanding begin. It is always better to communicate – do not make assumptions on anything. Communicate!
4. Always do your best – on your everyday life, on your work, your role as a mom or wife – always give it your best shot! Also do your best on the first 3 agreements and you will find a big change in your life.
